Estuary Housing Association has some exciting new vacancies for full time Support Assistants to join our friendly staff team at Norton Place, a registered nursing service for adults with learning and physical disabilities located in Shoeburyness, Essex.
The purpose of the role is to support to adults with learning disabilities living in a shared home to maintain and develop their independence at home, as well as accessing both new and established community activities, empowering each person to their own level within a 24-hour care setting.
An understanding of learning disabilities would be desirable - however full training will be provided so previous experience within care and support is not essential for these posts following a successful interview.
The successful candidates will demonstrate their passion for supporting people whilst ensuring that they have the ability to support with medication administration, support with finances, appropriate recordkeeping and to empower and promote independence within the home and out in the community.
We are looking for applicants with excellent communication and teamwork skills, along with a good standard of literacy and numeracy. You will also need to be flexible to work a shift pattern which includes early, late, night and weekend/bank holiday shifts.
