It’s an exciting time at Central Bedfordshire’s Housing Service. The Housing Service is a self-contained business that manages and maintains some 5,200+ Council-owned homes. The Service continues to benefit from self-financing and has an ambitious future programme of acquisition / development and regeneration. The Housing Innovations Officer is an exciting position and will be responsible for investigating simpler ways of working, developing the Housing business and progressing new ideas.
Day-to-day, you will help to develop and lead projects which either deliver a cost saving or additional income. You will research new developments in the Housing arena and use various systems to report on performance, presenting your outcomes to a variety of audiences while undertaking and investigating new ideas. Ensuring our customers are getting the absolute best service, including automating tasks and leading on digital innovations will be part of your daily routine. Another important task will be to ensure business processes are simplified, support digitalisation of the Housing service and enable our customers to be able to self serve. This is key to putting the customer at the heart of what we do.
To join us you will have in-depth experience in a similar role or an equivalent qualification, possibly from a project management background. You are organised, well versed in business development, performance management or compliance. You can analyse statistical data, produce feasibility studies, and enjoy completing tasks in a complex environment. With this expertise you’ll have the confidence to contribute and your strong communication skills will be essential along with an organised, team-focused approach.
