In this role, you’ll cover a wide range of planning enforcement matters on behalf of the borough, evaluating cases following site visits and reports from our specialist inspectors. You’ll then need to have regard to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and the Council’s development plan policies, procedures and legislation to effectively resolve any breaches of planning control, including dealing with any appeals and court hearings, should they arise.
We’re looking for someone with a degree or diploma in Town Planning and experience of planning enforcement or development management. You’ll be dealing with a wide range of people, so you’ll need to be tactful and diplomatic, with an understanding of and a commitment to customer care.
We’re also looking for:
- Excellent technical capabilities in development planning and/or planning enforcement
- A track record of contributing to innovative development planning solutions
- Experience of managing key client relationships
- Sound knowledge of planning laws and planning system
- Knowledge of urban design and conservation issues
- A team player who can making high-quality technical contributions.
