As Deputy Area Manager, you’ll find your greatness as you manage the day-to-day operation of Flitwick Library, while also supporting our libraries in the North Area.


In this key role, you will assist and deputise for the Area Manager ensuring the smooth operation of the North Area, you will line-manage, develop and motivate Customer Service Assistants while ensuring that appropriate staffing levels are achieved, deploying permanent and casual staff as necessary and cover opening hours and activities.

You will be part of a team that provides excellent customer service to library users including serving customers, answering enquiries and taking part in promotional events and activities.


Your efforts will help us to deliver a vibrant, high quality, relevant and sustainable service by contributing to service strategy priorities and supporting the continuing modernisation and transformation of the service. Join us, and you’ll be part of a hard-working team giving local people a Library Service that’s the very best it can be.


Although you will be based at one library, you must be able to work flexibly at other libraries if required. The post works on a two-week timetable, including alternate Saturday’s.
