At Central Bedfordshire we have a large leisure estate with ambitious plans. In partnership with Sport England we have already built two new leisure centres in the last 5 years and have put modern contracts in place to ensure our customers can get the very best from that investment.
We now have a vacancy in our Leisure Library and Countryside Management Team for a Leisure Contract Manager who has ambition for our service and can demonstrate an excellent track record in managing contracted out leisure and cultural facilities.
We are a team that support each other in our aligned objectives, exploring opportunities to develop and plan programmes which get the best from our assets and extend their reach. We work proactively with our partners and believe we get the best outcomes for our customers by collaborating.
You will be experienced in the practical challenges and opportunities that come with contracts for six leisure centres, a commercial theatre and community football facilities including all operational matters, budget management, performance management, commercially sensitive negotiations and contract compliance. You will bring your understanding and experience of how these services can enrich the lives of customers and contribute broad outcomes for all our residents, helping to make Central Bedfordshire a Great Place to Live and Work.
The successful candidate will be able to manage an effective performance management culture which delivers continuous improvement and operates at above national benchmarks for customer satisfaction, financial performance and participation. You will bring experience and understanding to how a commercial theatre operates and how we develop programmes and audiences to deliver a high quality offer, especially for children and young.
You will be responsible for any leisure management operator procurement, including drawing up service specifications and contracts, and will have a demonstrable track record of managing and developing staff to achieve more than they thought was possible.
