Title: Development Scientist (NGS Specialist)
Contract: Temporary, potential to be made permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: Hampstead, North London
We are looking for an experienced Scientist to join our Scientific Development team. The role of the Scientific Development team is to provide specialist support to the routine teams in the laboratory: troubleshooting problems, implementing new techniques and technologies, working closely with our technology team to design and test new Laboratory Information Management Systems and incorporating automation into our laboratory processes. All these are done in the context of UKAS and EFI accreditation guidelines that the laboratory must adhere to.
You will have experience in implementing new technologies, particularly Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). As our new team member, you will be a self-motivated individual coming from a routine clinical or research and development environment who has a keen interest in working closely with our automation partners to streamline and standardise processes. You will be a meticulous person, working on individual and joint projects, writing up and presenting your findings and updating the relevant SOPs and validations.
If you’re a Clinical Scientist, experienced routine Scientist or R&D Scientist, with great knowledge of NGS, looking to use your experience to improve future practice, we would like to speak to you. Experience in Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics would be an advantage but not essential.
This is a newly created position, with lots of scope to adapt the role to suit the right person. As a result, we don’t currently have a definitive job description to share.
If you would like to talk to us about this vacancy, please contact either Lisa Walsh (Lisa.Walsh@anthonynolan.org) or Franco Tavarozzi (Franco.Tavarozzi@anthonynolan.org)
