Families First Co-Ordinator

Job Title: Families First Coordinator (Welwyn Hatfield & Hertsmere)
Location: Stevenage/Countywide
Salary Range:£24,799 - £26,999 p.a
Hours: 37 hrs per week
Contract: 12 months fixed term or Secondment

Job Duties:

Families First is a key priority in Hertfordshire to deliver a coordinated early help offer to children and families across the County. The concept is a seamless partnership approach across 9 district Hubs.  The Hub is an overarching term to articulate how local early help is provided in a coordinated way; it is not about establishing different teams or physical locations.

Families First Coordinator post will provide practice support, early help information and advice to partners and practitioners on a core offer of services available, supporting them to navigate around the district and be knowledgeable about services. They will be visible within the double district and partnership Hubs, provide bespoke and personalised coaching/training around assessment, plan and support to access and use tools and resources.

The post holder will also provide early help advice and guidance to practitioners, and instigate initial Families First assessment for identified cases, organise a team around the family and identify a key worker for the family.

We are seeking an individual who is motivated, resourceful and passionate to improve outcomes for children and families, with a ‘can do’ attitude, excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills, solution focused, and experience of integrated working.  This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and families through early intervention. This role is critical as the double district contact for practitioners, ensuring a positive cultural change by championing and promoting the use of the Families First Assessment.

Experience of undertaking an assessment will be an advantage. Applicants must be able to drive and have access to a car in this role.

If our vision inspires you, and you relish a challenge - then this is a great opportunity to join one of the most exciting and forward-thinking councils, and a team that has recently been awarded early intervention team of the year.

Closing Date: 23rd October 2019
Interview Date: 4th November 2019
