Principal GIS Officer

We are looking for a full-time Principal GIS Officer to join our Digital Services Team based at the Civic Centre in the heart of Addlestone’s regenerated town centre. Here you will become part of a team committed to driving improvement through innovative ideas using the latest technology and supporting staff to access council software services.

You will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Council’s Geographical Information system as well as maintaining the Local Land and Property Gazetteer, ensuring the authority sustains an accurate and up to date corporate address database. This includes adding and updating newly developed properties, cross referencing addresses to external data sources, and integrating the LLPG into other business systems across the Council. Experience of using LLPG data is highly desirable although not essential.

You will lead on the corporate use data digitisation and visualisation across the Council, working on a wide variety of GIS projects and offering specialised support in responding to GIS and geospatial enquiries. Experience of working with desktop GIS applications is essential to the role.

As well as being a technically able person with a high attention to accuracy and detail, the successful candidate will need be an effective communicator at all levels, be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team, be adaptable and willing to learn new skills.
