Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Birch Hill Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our friendly hard working team to work with teachers and senior leaders to organise and support teaching and learning activities for classes. The primary focus is to do specified work with individuals, groups and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher.

The role will be varied and interesting, with no two days the same.  The HLTA will work with whole classes, covering short term teacher absence, and groups of children as well as working with individual children. 

The school is a two form entry primary with a Nursery.  In addition we have a KS2 Inclusion class (8 places MLD/ASD), which is linked to the local Special School – Kennel Lane.  The school is well resourced and has extensive outside space and a Nurture provision. There are currently 400 children on roll.

Birch Hill Primary was judged Good in our last Ofsted report (March 2016) , it states:

"The children feel safe at school.  They work and play happily together, appreciating and celebrating one another’s differences."

The successful candidate will have experience of covering whole classes within the primary age range and be a positive and proactive member of the team. They will be cheerful and positive with a can-do attitude. 

The school is located in the Birch Hill estate which is on the outskirts of Bracknell town and is within very easy access of many amenities.  The 'Look Out’ environmental area, Bracknell Sports Centre and Swimming Pool, the Berkshire Racquets and Health Club, the South Hill Park Theatre & Arts Centre are all well within walking distance with skating, skiing, bowling, cinemas and a leisure pool nearby.
