Casual Leisure Assistant (X-Height)

This post offers an exciting opportunity to enter into the leisure industry.

Award winning Salt Ayre Leisure Centre has the latest in fitness and training equipment, an indoor adventure play area and indoor and outdoor climbing facilities. Not to mention an immersive spinning studio and dedicated training zone.

In your role you will be responsible, as part of a team, for maintaining the smooth running of the state-of-the-art Leisure Centre. You will be dedicated in delivering an excellent customer experience for all our established and new customers. Supervising the extensive indoor and outdoor climbing offer and supporting other parts of the Leisure Centre program are vital elements of this role.

You will be the face of the Leisure Centre and it is a great opportunity to be part of an enthusiastic, passionate and vibrant team. You will be confident and outgoing as your duties will include delivering school holiday events and children’s birthday parties. You will also be expected to work in other areas of the leisure centre after appropriate training

An indoor climbing qualification and an enhanced clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service are essential for this position.

Working hours will be offered on a casual basis and will include evenings and weekends.  As a casual worker, you will be paid only for the hours which you work.  The nature of casual work means that there is no mutuality of obligation.  This means that the Council is not obliged to offer you any hours and neither are you obligated to accept any hours offered.   The Council cannot guarantee that work will be available every week.

Excellent benefits include: A Local Government Pension Scheme (the Council makes a 15.5% contribution). Discounted gym membership and discount on days out, activities and retail.
