Do you believe everyone should have a place to call home and the chance to lead a fulfilling life?

SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities and a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London - from supporting people in crisis, to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.

Our Redbridge Floating Support service is for anyone aged 18 and over who is facing housing difficulties and has an identified need relating to physical health, mental health, learning difficulties, substance use, old age, risk of offending or domestic violence.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, committed and experienced individual to join our established team in the London borough of Redbridge (Ilford, Essex).  As Floating Support Worker, you will support the day to day running of the service, taking responsibility for a caseload of up to 21 clients, producing comprehensive and high quality risk assessments and also risk management plans, on an on-going basis.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with vulnerable people with high levels of needs and risk and an understanding of the range of appropriate approaches, to working with mental and physical ill heath, drug and/or alcohol use and/or other social issues.

You will also have experience of supporting people to carry out tasks, which will enable them to live independently and sustain their tenancy. Additionally, you will have an understanding of housing and other related legislation and be able to liaise with a range of service providers and agencies; in order to establish or improve services for our clients.
