Personal Assistant

Looking for a team of six Personal Assistants to support a young man with a Learning Disability and challenging behaviour.

Personal Assistants will be required to assist with full personal care and taking the individual out for outings.  The individual will need to be pushed in a wheelchair if going out over long distances for more than 30 minutes.

The successful candidates should be confident, speak clear English, communicate effectively, have experience of working with individuals with Learning Disabilities and challenging behaviour, must have attended manual handling, epilepsy, medication administration, first aid and health and safety training or have experience of these fields and be willing to attend the relevant training.

The employer would consider male or female Personal Assistants.

The working patterns are 7.45am-16.00pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 7.45am-17.00pm Friday and 11.00am-16.00pm Saturday.  There is also the requirement for five hours twice a month as a contingency to allow the parents to go out.

Rate of pay is £12.00 per hour.
