In Northampton, we have expanded and restructured our Housing Advice and Options Service in order to increase our effectiveness in preventing homelessness, improving people’s housing conditions and reducing rough sleeping.
We are now looking to appoint two Housing Triage Officers (one permanent and one on a 12 months fixed term contract) who will carry out a rapid initial assessment of the housing and support needs of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and have dependent children or are pregnant or vulnerable.
Supported by a team of specialist housing advisers, the Housing Triage Officers will make initial enquiries to establish customers’ eligibility for assistance under the homelessness legislation and provide them with comprehensive advice and information about their housing rights and the housing options available to them.
To meet the requirements of this key role, you will have excellent communication skills, work well under pressure and enjoy being part of a team. You will also have a passion for multi-agency working, problem solving and preventing homelessness.
If you are excited by the prospect of working in a role in which you can make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives, we would be delighted to hear from you.
