Probation Officer - Youth Offending Team

Thurrock Council are currently looking for a Qualified Probation Officer to join the Youth Offending Team on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract

The successful applicant will be a qualified probation officer responsible for case managing young people on court orders. You will be responsible for managing higher risk young people who are ready to transition to adult services due to their age.

As part of Thurrock Youth Offending Team you will assess, manage and deliver one to one interventions to young offenders. You will also act as a link worker between the youth offending team, NPS and the CRC to ensure the smooth transition of cases between services.

This role will involve working across both the Youth Offending Team and National Probation Service and you will be responsible for the completion of a probation assessment to decide which adult service provider will be relevant.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level is required for this role.
