Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

We are currently looking to appoint a qualified higher level teaching assistant to compliment the professional work of our first-class teaching team. You will be working across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

We are looking for an individual with proven teaching skills as you will be required to take responsibility for designated learning tasks, in addition to supporting teacher led activities. This is likely to involve taking a lead responsibility for the delivery of defined learning activities. Shortlisted candidates will also be able to demonstrate at interview their ability to support emotional health for children.

The school recognises the positive impact an effective higher level teaching assistant can have in boosting pupils’ performance. You will need to be a committed, childcentred individual as well as organised, proactive, and good-humoured.

Pre–employment medical check

References
On your application form you will be asked to provide the names and addresses of two people who will provide a reference. At least one should be from your current/most recent employer. If you are not currently working with children/adults at risk but have done so in the past it is important that a reference is obtained from the employer by whom you were most recently employed working with children/adults at risk. Employment references must be provided by your current or most recent line manager and will not be accepted from relatives or people writing solely in the capacity of friends. However, your referees may include someone you know with standing in the community i.e. a teacher, vicar etc. We take up references for all shortlisted candidates and wherever possible we like to apply for these prior to interview.
