Elizabeth Fry Charity operates an Approved Premises for women in Reading. The Approved Premises accommodates 24 women on licence, bail and community sentences. We work closely with our partner agencies to manage risk, protect the public and support women to make positive changes to their lives.

Are you interested in working with women offenders, many of whom have substance misuse and other complex issues? Are you committed to teamwork? Are you able to demonstrate a flexible and creative approach to enable and assist offenders to live in the community leading law abiding lives?

We are currently seeking relief workers to join the team at Elizabeth Fry Charity.  Our pool of relief staff help us to cover absences due to annual leave or sickness and can be called upon, sometimes at short notice, to provide support.  We are able to offer shifts seven days a week, 365 days a year, and they involve days, evenings, or waking nights.  We can offer the flexibility to fit in with other employment, as there is no commitment for you to do a certain number of shifts, and will provide training appropriate to the role.

Shifts are paid at the following rates:

Day shifts: £14.11 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.

Night shifts: £17.17 per hours, inclusive of holiday pay.

Enhancements are provided for working Bank Holidays.

We are seeking self motivated and committed individuals to support our residents and assist the running of the Approved Premises. Excellent communications skills, administrative skills and team work skills are a must.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful candidates will be subject to an check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
