Partnerships Support Officer (Maternity Cover)

Are you ready to play a key role in helping Hertsmere Borough Council achieve its vision of improving the quality of life for everyone in Hertsmere? Hertsmere Borough Council is recruiting this key post (maternity cover) to provide a full range of support to one of the Council’s key partnerships, the Community Safety Partnership, and to the wider Partnerships and Community Engagement Team.

The role provides organisational support to the award winning Community Safety Partnership whilst also providing project support to deliver the Partnership Plan and key priority actions. The Partnership’s overarching work helps to direct actions of both the Council and its partners to: 

  • Create safer environments by tackling crime, anti-social behaviour and extremism
  • Build community confidence and increase feelings of safety by empowering our communities
  • Raise awareness and take action against domestic abuse
  • Support and protect vulnerable people affected by emerging issues such as, child sexual exploitation, modern slavery and human trafficking

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and possess excellent administrative and organisational skills. The post holder will be required to develop administrative systems to ensure the smooth operation of the partnership and responsibilities will include monitoring financial expenditure and supporting the collection of performance information both across the partnership and within the wider team.

The post holder will have the ability to work as part of a busy team, have excellent IT skills and be able to work closely with senior officers and members from external partner agencies. They will also be a logical thinker who is able to manage what will be a varied workload.  They must have excellent administrative skills and be able to take minutes and be available to attend evening meetings.  

The post is offered on a full time (36 hours per week), fixed term basis for 12 months.
