An experienced and self-motivated Housing Options Officer is required to provide Homeless prevention advice and assistance to households who are threatened with homelessness and also assess and process Homelessness applications made under current legislation.


The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of homeless legislation (Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 & 2002) this will include developing personalised housing plans and decision making in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. You will have experience of working within a homeless/ housing environment and managing a demanding caseload carrying out assessments and investigations in line with homeless legislation.


This will include the use of prevention tools to sustain tenancies or secure suitable, affordable accommodation. You must be able to investigate issues in a sensitive manner, accurately record statements and findings and also able to discuss and negotiate effective outcome options with accommodation providers and landlords to prevent homelessness.
