Trainee Trading Standards Officer

Job Title: Trainee Trading Standards Officers
Location: County Hall, Hertford
Salary Range: £19,171 - £22,462 pa (pro rata for part-time)
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: 3 Years Fixed Term

Job Duties:

You will be supporting Trading Standards Officers and other Community Protection Staff by maintaining standards of fair trading as well as researching information about businesses, keeping accurate records of enquiries, visits, inspections or investigations as required by senior colleagues.  You will be supported to complete a professional qualification with a view to becoming a Trading Standards Officer.

Based at our offices in Hertford, we offer excellent training; IT facilities and the opportunity to work flexibly. As a large Trading Standards department there are also excellent career opportunities for high performers.  We are looking for people who are customer focused and prepared to go the extra mile for businesses and consumers alike.

Experience of either working in a Trading Standards Service or other consumer protection or regulatory body is desirable although not essential.
