More Information

Trainee Complex Needs Practitioner

You have some experience of working in the substance misuse field and are committed to completing an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care. All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use. Welcome to Aquarius as a Trainee Complex Needs Practitioner.

Our Birmingham Young People’s Service in Edgbaston supports young people under 18 living in Birmingham with a substance misuse problem. We also offer support to those affected by parental substance misuse, while many of the children and young people we work with also have other vulnerabilities. Join us, and you could soon be working alongside a variety of professionals to promote the service and support referrals into it. We’ll also rely on you to provide advice, screening and brief assessments for individuals, families or couples. Developing care plans and ensuring they are implemented and reviewed with clients will be important too, as will monitoring outcomes and sometimes referring cases onto a senior colleague. And, when it comes to liaising with agencies, professionals and other groups, participating in information events or keeping accurate records on databases, again, we’ll count on you.

An energetic and confident self-starter and strong team player, you’re as comfortable liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals as you are engaging with clients in a variety of settings. You also have a flexible and adaptable approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills and the confidence to promote the service. What’s more, you’re used to both delivering and undertaking training and willing to work flexibly in settings that include local Pathfinder schools.

So, are you ready to take on this rewarding role that comes with some really great benefits, including a smartphone? Apply now via our website.
