Following our successful community-backedapplication, Hackney Wick and Fish Island (HWFI) has been designated as aCreative Enterprise Zone (CEZ), one of six in London. We are now looking for a HWFI CEZ Manager tohelp shape, guide, and deliver a range of programmes that will reinforce andexpand the area’s artistic and creative heritage.
With a major concentration of artists, studiospace, fashion, design, tech and digital companies, Hackney Wick and FishIsland is a canal-side community of creativity and innovation. The new CEZ designation will support the development of acommunity led-consortium involving local business, local charitableorganisations, four universities, two boroughs and a Development Corporation tosupport and expand this thriving creative community.
Ourgoal is to make the CEZ located in HWFI the most inclusive in London. So, as theHWFI CEZ Manager, youwill bring your wider creative industries acumen, experience of working in amulti-stakeholder environment, extensive networks, and knowledgeof current trends and practices to ensure the successful delivery of theCEZ programme – ensuring that it works for local people. Working with a range of partnersyou willhelp the creative industries to flourish through a time of significantregeneration and development in Hackney Wick and Fish Island. You will do this through working closely withstrategic partners, developing opportunities for new enterprise andemployment/skills initiatives which support local creative enterprise, communityengagement and fundraising support to help maximise the area's fullpotential and ensure its longevity as a creative centre.
This role forms a vital part in the endeavoursof Tower Hamlets Council, Hackney Council and London Legacy Development Corporationto deliver the Mayor of London’s CEZ initiative. The HWFI CEZ Manager will beexpected to champion the role creative industries can play in the economic andsocial success of place-based regeneration, aligning physical regenerationactivity to the wider aspirations of sustainable communities and businesses.
