Job Title: Local Authority Designated Officer
Location: Hertford
Salary Range: £42,683 progressing to £45,591 pa (pro rata for part-time)
Hours: 22 per week
Contract: Fixed Term Contract or Secondment opportunity for 12 months


Job Duties:

An opportunity has arisen for a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) for allegations management in Quality Assurance, Improvement and Practice.

The post holder will be part of a small team responsible for the management and oversight of allegations relating to adults working with children in either an employed or voluntary capacity, in line with local and National Guidance (e.g. Working Together to Safeguarding Children (DFE 2018), Keeping Children Safe in Education (DFE, 2019) and Hertfordshire Safeguarding Children Board Inter Agency Child Protection Procedures (Chapter 4.1) 

Any new appointments to this role, other than current or former designated officers moving between local authorities, should be qualified social workers.

We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic person to this post which is for 3 working days a week (0.6), Monday-Wednesday. This will be part of a job share.
