This is a casual role covering holiday and absence of the permanent Night security team
To work under the direction of the Duty Manager to ensure the integrity, security and safety of the Division’s buildings, collections, public and staff.
To help to ensure the smooth running of fire, security, CCTV, access control and patrol systems and provide cover for the Royal Pavilion control room as instructed.

About the role
Working as part of a team you will need to patrol, monitor and carry out surveillance and prevention duties in the Royal Pavilion and to ensure that the Royal Pavilion, Brighton Museum & Art Gallery and the Old Courthouse, and the Royal Pavilion grounds are secure and free from intruders and damage. To assist and deal with all emergencies and incidents such as theft of Council or personal property, vandalism or damage to the collections or building, gas leak, power failure, flooding, leaks and water damage, medical emergencies/accident reporting, suspicious parcels/objects bomb threats, fire investigation and evacuation procedures ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures. To co-operate with and assist the statutory authorities (Police, Fire & Rescue Service etc) as required. To be part of the emergency call out team in the event of a major incident.
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency's Points-based Immigration System.
