The Community Safety service works in, and with, our local communities to tackle a wide range of often complex community safety issues, helping reduce crime and disorder and the fear of crime. Working together with our partners and communities you will make a key contribution to making Central Bedfordshire a great place to live and work.
As a Safer Neighbourhood Team Officer, you will play a critical role for the service in implementing and operating administrative procedures in support of the teams’ anti-social behaviour and environmental crime investigations, issuing of Fixed Penalty Notices, and creation of evidential files for court prosecutions. You will provide a first point of contact for all internal and external customers, responding according to service procedures and prioritising accordingly, signposting to other teams where appropriate. You will co-ordinate and manage specific service projects, monitoring milestones and actions for completion, and maintain quality data systems for use in management information reports.
You will have demonstrable experience of working in a busy team environment and working under pressure. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to successfully manage and co-ordinate a range of processes, be able to prepare reports, and be able to show how you have implemented systems to improve efficiency. You will need excellent communication, partnership and collaboration skills to work to support customers experiencing what can sometimes be very challenging issues. You will IT literate, be committed to delivering high standards and have excellent attention to detail and you will be committed to delivering excellent customer service and enjoy working in a team focused on delivering tangible outcomes.
