As Head of Practice Learning for Achieving for Children, you will be responsible for:

  • Working with services to ensure that the quality assurance processes we have in place are fit for purpose, this includes inspection readiness
  • You will lead some of the organisation’s quality assurance processes, to ensure they are delivered to the highest professional standard, provide effective support and protection to children, and deliver the best possible outcomes for them
  • You will be working alongside social workers and other professionals to identify opportunities to improve social work delivery and provide independent scrutiny of practice and standards
  • You will be responsible for relating the views of social workers to senior managers and ensuring the views and experiences of children and families are fully considered in the planning and delivery of services across the company
  • You will be solely working within Kingston and Richmond and will report to the Associate Director for Quality Assurance and Review. However, you will liaise with their counterpart in Windsor and Maidenhead to support quality assurance functions and best practice across the company. Head of Practice Learning will line manage the Quality Assurance and Improvement Manager.

About you

To be Head of Practice Learning for AfC, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points

  • You must have a comprehensive understanding of the work practices, processes and procedures relevant to the role and be able to find innovative and creative problem-solving solutions
  • To apply you must be HCPC registered with significant experience within childcare. You should be fully conversant with the IRO handbook, Working Together to Safeguard Children (2015) and the London Child Protection Procedures
