Temporary Accommodation Liaison Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to join the busy Housing Team who are embracing change and working hard to deliver the service effectively. You will be able to contribute to shaping the service and have opportunities to develop your own ideas and initiatives to meet the challenges ahead. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with good knowledge of housing and associated legalisation. The ideal candidate will have 5 GCSE’s, or equivalent, including English and Maths, be organised and methodical to manage a complex and varied work load. You will need a positive attitude and caring approach towards customers.  You will have excellent communication, negotiation and problem solving skills to find solutions for those facing housing problems. 

This role provides oversight of the council’s temporary accommodation arrangements including monitoring temporary accommodation licensees in council owned accommodation and placements in private provider and hostel accommodation. We also have an exciting new development coming up of council owned temporary accommodation.

You will provide a variety of housing management services to all clients and work with other agencies to promote and safeguard the welfare of clients in temporary accommodation. You will also manage the rent accounts for applicants.

The post is offered on a full time, permanent basis (36 hours per week).
