One of the Council’s most high profile commitments is to a Carbon Neutral District by 2030.
We are looking to recruit a skilled, enthusiastic and committed individual to help deliver on this corporate priority by providing high quality support to both the delivery and development of a range of projects that will achieve our carbon neutral ambitions.
You will be working closely with the Carbon Neutral 2030 officer to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within set budgets and that activities are building progress towards our targets.
About the role
A varied role with systematic project working at its heart. You will be expected to work from project specifications under the direction of the Carbon Neutral 2030 officer on practical projects that have a strong focus on enabling communities to develop their ideas into action on climate change. As well as supporting community engagement and strategic activity to develop new projects you will be responsible for ensuring contracts secured are effectively delivered on time and to budget. The project work is envisaged as supporting and enabling community action rather than the development of new energy infra-structure. However, a broad knowledge that spans both technical solutions and community engagement with these will be vital.
Initially a 1 year fixed term contract the post holder will be given the opportunity to support development work and funding bids that could extend a successful implementation of this post.
You will be and experienced and highly organised individual able to demonstrate success in managing the day to day delivery of projects in cross-sector partnerships. Ideally, your background will include project working within a context related to at least one of the following: energy, environment, sustainability, low carbon, community.
