Counter-Fraud Officer (Fraud Investigator)

Based in Stevenage with travel across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire

Salary: £26,999 pa pro rata for 6 Months Full time Hours, Fixed Term/Secondment Contract April to October 2020 (covering Maternity Leave)

The Hertfordshire Shared Anti-Fraud Service (SAFS) provides an award winning fraud prevention and investigation services to our partner organisations across Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire. Based at our Stevenage office we have a vacancy for someone willing to work in a high pressure environment to demanding targets and delivering excellent service outcomes.  Working as Counter Fraud Officer you must be able to develop professional relationships, have excellent IT and person skills, be prepared to learn and develop as well as undertake, or have already completed, nationally accredited training, and be capable of adapting or developing existing procedures.  This post is part of a career scheme and although not essential experience of criminal or enforcement investigations in the UK is desirable.


The role includes the investigation of fraud committed against a variety of public sector bodies across Hertfordshire. You will be required to interview suspects and witnesses in criminal, civil and disciplinary investigations, accurately collate and record evidence and produce high quality files for use in court or at tribunals.
