Team Manager Leaving Care Service PO8

Team Manager - Leaving Care Service

Waltham Forest is a vibrant East London Borough rich in arts and culture; being home to the William Morris Museum and Leyton Orient Football Club and recently securing the first London Borough of Culture Award.  We have a diverse community and are one of the fastest growing boroughs in London.  We are seeking a skilled and experienced social worker to provide a leadership role as Team Manager in our Leaving Care Service.  The Waltham Forest Leaving Care Service was rated as Good in our recent Ofsted inspection with  ‘a strong local offer to care leavers that identifies their rights and entitlements’ .  They also found ‘Leaders have made strong progress to establish a resilient, sustainable and child-focused service’ and judged the overall leadership of children’s social care as Outstanding.

The service is committed to providing a high-quality support and guidance to care leavers to enable them to achieve their full potential on their pathway to independence.   At the centre of our service delivery is  ‘Relationships making the difference’ and we ensure that practitioners have the skills, training, supervision and support to enable them to build effective relationships with the young adults they are supporting with the recent Ofsted inspection determining  that the workforce ‘feel supported and report that managers and leaders are easily accessible and approachable’.

Join us and you will help us to become a centre of excellence and best practice, building on the strong foundations we have laid. In return for your hard work, we will give you the time and active support you need to make a difference. Promoting creativity is at the heart of our agenda to develop our practice, and means you will be encouraged to share ideas, bring about positive change and strive to continuously improve outcomes for our vulnerable children and their families.
