This is a rare opportunity to join our Building Control team who are responsible for ensuring that building work in the City is carried out to minimum standards of safety, accessibility and sustainability.
About the role
Grade: NJC SO1/2
£26,999 to £31,371
Full-time: 37 hours per week
Assistant Building Control Surveyor required to undertake building control site visits, plan checking, assessing dangerous structures and other building control related duties.
As part of the team you will be responsible for ensuring that building work is carried out to meet Building Regulations standards and that existing structures in the City are maintained in a safe condition. The team aim to deliver a customer focused service in a competitive market.
You will have excellent experience and knowledge of the construction industry and preferably have an HNC or equivalent level of qualification. You should have excellent customer skills with the ability to convey complex technical matters in a clear manner to service users at all levels.
The position is an important part of ensuring that building work meets technical standards.
The successful applicant will undergo training and development to carry out the full range of duties required.
