Development Finance Graduate

Peabody has an exciting opportunity for Development Finance Graduate, based in Tower Bridge. You will join us on a full time basis on a 3 year placement and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £30,000 per annum.

As our Development Finance Graduate you will assume responsibility from day one and can focus on individual areas depending on our needs. You will rotate within the teams in development and regeneration finance getting an intensive overview of all areas of our business including Development Financial planning and analysis, Tax and business partnering.

Responsibilities of our Development Finance Graduate include:

- Support the business with large scale, high risk and transformational projects and initiatives, including the financial appraisal of new investments or business opportunities.

- Provide high-quality insights and finance representation at management team meetings and/or programme/project boards meetings.

- Effectively monitor the operational delivery of the customers’ revenue and capital programmes and providing analysis and insight of the impact of any operational variation from the plan.

- Deliver robust training to budget holders to ensure there is compliance and adherence to financial regulations, financial systems and business rules.

- Prepare and post weekly, monthly and ad-hoc accounting journals, along with regular balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring each journal and reconciliation is accurate, complete and compliant with standard accounting practices

- Produce high quality analyses to assist in strategic decision making

- Assist in analysing data, producing financial reports and providing excellent customer service.

- Assist in year-end audit tasks, providing quality auditable financial information as required and delivering a right-first-time service.

- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly VAT and Construction industry tax reporting.

- Assist with the preparation of thorough and compliant balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring auditable evidence is available for each balance and any corrections are followed up in a timely fashion.

- Assist in the year end process, including corporation tax and gift aid reporting.

- Assist with weekly, monthly and ad-hoc tax accounting journals.

What we’re looking for in our Development Finance Graduate:

- Minimum Grade B GCSE Maths

- Minimum Grade B GCSE English Language

- Minimum 2:1 degree in any discipline (We are unable to accept anyone with an Accounting Qualification)

- Ambitious and Driven

- All-round competency in IT essential, particularly the use of Excel spreadsheets required.

- Willingness to work towards ACCA qualification and complete within 3 years

- Attention to detail and ability to analyse and identify inconsistencies in large amounts of data required.

- Desire to take pride in and ownership of own work essential.

- All-round competency in IT essential, particularly the use of Excel spreadsheets required.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, and provide an excellent customer service at all times essential.

- Proven experience of working to deadlines and working well under pressure required.

- Ability to learn systems and procedures quickly, and able to respond positively change in short timescales required.
