This is genuinely an exciting time to be joining Maldon District Council. The implementation of our Future Council Model is about to go live, following a 15-month transformation programme to deliver a modern, dynamic, customer-centric, commercially aware Council.
We’re looking for a Director of Resources who will be at the heart of implementing these changes; a dynamic leader, who will be one of three Directors who jointly make up the Corporate Leadership Team of the Council. About this role
As well as being a corporate leader, you will provide strategic financial advice as the statutory Section 151 officer and lead on resource management and financial planning for the Council.
You will oversee the delivery of sustainable efficiencies and improvements as part of our Medium-Term Financial Strategy (MTFS). Alongside the finance function, the Director will oversee a portfolio of corporate services comprising of Specialists and Caseworkers for areas including IT, HR, and other support services. This leadership role will make a major contribution to the Council’s cultural and transformational change agenda and will seize opportunities and embrace challenges to ensure that we become more commercially focused and embed this across the organisation.
You will drive forward the leadership, management and development of its finances and resources, to provide value for money and commercial return.
