Family Support Worker

We are seeking an Early Response Family Support Worker to be part of the Early Response Hub based within the Contact, Advice and Assessment Service (CAAS) of the Children and Family Services department that supports families in need and children at risk of harm.

The main purpose of the post is to:

  • Resolve queries and concerns at the initial point of contact wherever possible.
  • To help to develop a holistic support plan for families referred into the Early Response Hub which may include a home visit to complete a targeted piece of work.
  • Support the Early Response Hub to set up and coordinate Early Response MASH enquiries.
  • Obtain feedback on the outcomes for families following an Early Response intervention.

The Early Response Hub (ERH) is made up of an Early Response Manager, qualified social worker, targeted intervention service as well as a number of different agencies on rota in ERH such as DCT, Homestart, Family Hubs, Early Years, Swanswell.

Based at West Point House in Newbury, you will have the ability to work throughout the West Berkshire area for any required Early Response home visits.

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
