Ranger 3 Maintenance

Sefton Council have a number of Temporary Ranger posts available within Green Sefton’s Land Management Team, to assist with increased workload during the busy summer season.
Green Sefton provides our communities with a clean, green Borough (including parks and greenspaces, nature reserves, trees and woodlands, play and recreational facilities, municipal golf courses and our coast, beaches and countryside, which include specially protected sites and landscapes) to the benefit of residents, visitors, investors, and nature.
Applicants will be expected to undertake cleansing and general maintenance duties across the Council’s Green Sefton facilities. The work involves working outdoors, lifting and carrying, dealing with the public, using tools and equipment and handling monies where appropriate. Applicants should ideally hold a full clean driving licence.
The successful applicant will be required to assist with leading a small team (2-3) carrying out general grounds maintenance duties using a range of machinery and equipment. They will also be expected to undertake cleansing duties as well as other routine maintenance tasks such as guiding and advising the public. Previous experience of working in grounds maintenance is essential. DBS certification may be required. Essential driving licence, trailer licence advantageous
Interviews will be held in February 2020.

Working hours will operate over a 7 day week and will include evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. A uniform will be provided, which must be worn at all times. Previous experience of working in similar roles in a coastal and / or within a grounds maintenance setting would be useful. Experience of 4x4, use of mowers and other equipment and mobile communications would also be valuable but not essential.
