Administration Assistant – Planning and Development Service
Part Time, 25 hours Monday-Friday
Salary up to £10,673 p.a (FTE £15,796 p.a)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in a busy and thriving administration team. The Council is looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to provide a variety of basic administrative duties to support the Council’s planning service. The role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work unsupervised, using initiative. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a customer facing environment and be able to demonstrate a high standard of customer care. It is desirable but not essential to have good ICT skills and the successful candidate will hold GCSE/’O’ Level passes in English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications.
The postholder will undertake the following duties:
- Provide basic but varied administrative support to the Planning service
- Assist the Technical Assistants’ in downloading, printing, collating, indexing and scanning planning applications using a document management system
- Act as the first point of contact for customers on the telephone and in reception, referring visitors to appropriate staff
- Answering the telephone and providing administrative support to Planning Officers.
