SENDIASS provides young people, parents or carers of children with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) with impartial and confidential information, advice and support. The advice relates to SEND procedures, rights and responsibilities, with regards to relevant legislation, so that appropriate and informed decisions can be made.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of young people’s experience of SEN support within Bedfordshire. We are ideally looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, who enjoys working with young people, as much of the work will be development of SENDIASS to support the engagement of young people. Every day will be different, and each day will present its own challenges!
The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines are a must. Knowledge of or willingness to learn the relevant legislation including the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND code of Practice 2015 is essential to the role. Legal training and ongoing learning will be provided as part of your professional development.
