Havering is the easternmost London borough, bordered by Essex to the North and East, the River Thames to the south and the boroughs of Redbridge and Barking & Dagenham to the west. The Housing Demand Service delivers the statutory advice and homelessness preventions services and the Housing Register and Allocations function. . With the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 coming into effect from April 2018, we have a new post to strengthen the service and it is a very exciting time to join.
You will work with people at risk of homelessness and their landlords alike. We want you to help residents remain in their homes where homelessness can be prevented and support landlords who provide the council with properties to relieve homelessness.

The post is 36 hours per week, full time permanent.
Do you have a thorough understanding of housing legislation as well as in depth experience of its successful application? If so, this might be the position for you!
The successful candidate will be a well organised individual, with an analytical mind and good attention to detail, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to understand and apply statutory provisions, regulations and case law to complex homelessness and housing cases.
