Auditor - Internal Audit and Risk

Tower Hamlets is one of the UK's most culturally vibrant and diverse areas. The borough is densely populated, with over 200,000 people living in eight square miles at the heart of London's East End. Some 49 per cent of residents are from black and minority ethnic communities. We are seeking people with ambition, creativity and commitment to ensure our economic growth and capital investment provides benefits for everyone and create opportunities to transform the lives of local residents.

Against this background, a professional, independent and objective internal audit service is vital for promoting good governance across the Council. Internal Audit has a key role in Tower Hamlets in helping to accomplish the Council’s priorities and objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of control, risk management and governance processes.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our high profile Internal Audit service for experienced and dynamic Audit Professionals to apply for Auditor posts with excellent career progression opportunities within the service. We have two posts which we are currently recruiting to. You will assist the team in delivering a programme of compliance and systems audits across a whole range of services and functions within the Council and its Partners.

You should be part qualified or studying for CCAB or IIA qualifications and demonstrate experience in conducting and reporting of risk based systems and compliance audits within a public sector organisation.
