Housing Services Apprentice

Horsham District Council are looking for an apprentice to join their Housing Services team. You will based within the housing allocations team but experience all aspects of the housing service including homelessness and affordable housing delivery.

Whilst part of the Housing Services team you will also study to attain a Level 3 Chartered Institute of Housing qualification. You will be supported to achieve this with 20% of your working week set aside to enable further study and learning.

As part of the qualification you will attend a number of skills workshops over an 18 month period, complete a portfolio of evidence of the skills you have developed and undertake a work based project that will see you put all of your learning into practise.

All costs associated with your qualification including travel and study materials will also be met by the Council to help your achieve your best outcomes.

The successful post holder will be expected to work with a broad range of internal and external colleagues and partners to supporting the work we do that helps make  the Horsham District a safer and healthier place for all residents and communities.

To succeed as a Housing Apprentice you will need a keenness to learn and an enthusiasm to get involved in work that that may, at times be outside your comfort zone. You will need to be a competent IT user with good communication, problem solving and organisational skills who is keen to make a difference.

The specific work structure surrounding time to study will be agreed with the successful applicant.
