We’re looking for an inspiring manager who is good with numbers to join us at Chorley and South Ribble Borough Councils to manage a shared management accounts team.
It will be a fantastic challenge as we navigate the uncertainties of local government funding while looking at how we can generate income and manage major projects so we can continue to improve services for residents in times of austerity.
You will be leading the team to manage both councils’ budgets whilst working on projects that vary from shopping centre investments, renovations of historic halls, building extra care facilities and other major new developments that will make Chorley and South Ribble places that people are proud to live and work in.
You will need to be a member of CIPFA or CCAB equivalent, have significant experience of managing a team within the finance service and supporting a local authority in setting and managing its budget.
More than that you will need to be enthusiastic about delivering the changes that both organisations are looking to achieve. You may be comfortable working through an excel spreadsheet full of numbers but more importantly you will be the face of the management accounts team across both organisations and therefore need excellent interpersonal skills.
This is a great opportunity to test your skills in an exciting shared environment where we work with organisations of all types to ensure the residents are put at the heart of everything we do.
