Advanced Practitioner Social Worker

Rutland Children's Social Care is a great place to practice social work. Are you an experienced and ambitious social worker who wants to join a forward thinking, innovative Council? In Rutland, we’re committed and responsive in a way that many other authorities can only dream of.

Our social workers can see cases through to their conclusion and influence a broader range of services. They get closer to service users. A role in one of our Social Care teams is an opportunity to make a huge impact – both on Rutland, and on your own career. It’s a chance to get closer to the things that really matter.

We want to hear from you if you have significant social work experience and strong knowledge of relevant legislation. You will assist in the development of the service to ensure we go from strength to strength, so innovation and leadership skills are key.

Why choose Rutland?

If you’re looking for an opportunity that enables you to work closely with vulnerable children and their families, where your skills and experience can make a significant difference, and where there really is a work life balance, then this is the place to work. We offer manageable caseloads, learning events, training, and regular reflective supervision to focus on you. We encourage continually improving practice to ensure children’s interests are always protected and promoted.

To support you further, your HCPC registration and DBS costs are covered by us. We can also provide financial relocation assistance, if you’re moving to join Rutland (subject to management approval).

The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

What to do now… We’re always keen to hear from professional, committed and enthusiastic social work practitioners - if you’re interested in working with us, please apply online now, or contact Emma Sweeny, Head of Children’s Social Care, esweeny@rutland.gov.uk / 01572 722577 if you’d like an informal discussion about the role.

Rutland County Council is committed to Equality and Diversity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
