Senior Commissioning Officer

The role

This role sits within the Children, Adults and Families Commissioning Service, where no two days are the same.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a team approach and an ability to stay calm under pressure while managing competing priorities.

Reporting to the Strategic Commissioning Manager for Long Term Conditions and Wellbeing, the successful candidate will play a critical role in the delivery of complex projects across Children, Adults and Families service.

This will include conducting commissioning reviews, developing persuasive business cases, conducting service user's consultation and managing provider relationships.

This will be challenging, dynamic and rewarding role and we are looking for a candidate who have the appropriate aptitude and skills to really make a difference to the management of the Councils' social care and education programmes.

A focus on asset-based approaches, achieving public value and the ability to provide expert commission advice is essential.

The successful candidate will be experienced in managing complex health and/or social care commissioning projects and contracts.

You will employ an assertive yet personable approach to achieving your goals, will be a skilled communicator, with the ability to build credible relationships across the Council and with the wider provider market.

Be able to effectively identify when applying rigorous commissioning approaches might add value.

You will be able to respond with maturity and calm within a environment where there may be competing priorities. You'll also come to us with enthusiasm, drive and a commitment to your own learning and development.
