Base Location: Biggleswade, Chicksands or Dunstable

 Children’s Services at Central Bedfordshire Council has recently been awarded ‘employer of the year’ alongside a ‘Good’ OFSTED inspection.

You will have relevant experience in understanding the best way of applying different social work theories and come up with ideas and knowledge to deliver imaginative ambitious interventions that improve outcomes for all involved. You will also have the communication skills to work with other agencies and present high-quality reports.  The Family Support team pride ourselves on our small teams and manageable cases loads allowing workers to undertake meaningful practice with children, young people and their families.


This is an exciting opportunity for a social worker to develop and progress in their career within a supportive environment.  We are proud that we enable workers to gain a vast amount of experiences and opportunities in working with families who are subject to Child In Need, Child Protection, Public Law Outline Processes and Court Work. As part of our work we are embracing Motivational Interviewing and Systemic Models of Social Work practice which we continue to develop and embed.

We are looking for Social Workers who are HCPC registered and have completed their ASYE. You will also need to who hold a current UK driving licence. You will need to have sound IT abilities and be keen to work as part of the wider team.
