Our property portfolio covers 80 square miles and two London boroughs, and our work has a big impact on the 600,000 people we serve. Building stronger communities? Brighter futures? Better lives? It’s all here. This is bigger than big.

Part Time Property Technician- 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Grade 8 - £39,774 - £43,590pro rata

Our property services are underpinned by research, data management and technical skills. This is where you come in. You’ll have previously worked in an architect’s or estate surveyor’s office and you’ll have solid surveying and inspection skills.

You’ll use your technical skills and love of data to look after the Council’s operational and commercially-let property portfolios. You’ll use research and maintain databases to advise on, and carry out, a full range of valuation and estates duties, whilst also providing property management services. You’ll have direct responsibility for our IT-based property systems (CAD/GIS and property terrier systems) and provide technical assistance on all Council properties.

You’ll also play a crucial role in preparing and analysing detailed records and property papers to assist with our asset management planning and commercial strategy.

Of course, you’ll also be a skilled communicator who can work with all kinds of people, make complex issues easy to understand and resolve disputes where necessary. Flexibility is vital as you will occasionally be working in our partner borough of Havering and managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

As you push our standards ever upwards, you’ll also instil integrity and true diversity across our teams, respecting others and expecting the same in return.

All our team members are also expected to share our commitment to equality of opportunity, outstanding health and safety as well as compliance with data protection laws and confidentiality.
