Employee Services Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen within oneSource for a Full Time Employee Services Officer to work within the busy Employee Services Team within Exchequer and Transactional Services.                                                              

The Employee Services team are responsible for the delivery of a transactional HR service through the One Oracle HR/payroll system. Providing a high quality and consistent service to our customers, whilst adhering to legislation, terms and conditions, policies and procedures at all times.

Full Time Employee Services Officer -36 hpw  (Fixed Term Contract for 9 months)

Grade 5 Salary £27,228 to £30,213 pa

This post will be based at the Central Library in Havering and on Havering’s Terms and Conditions. Travel between other offices that are part of oneSource may be required. 

The purpose of the role of Employee Services Officer is to provide the first point of contact for employees and managers with routine transactional HR queries and to be responsible for their satisfactory resolution.

The Employee Services Team undertakes a wide range of transactional HR functions including: supporting managers and applicants in relation to recruitment via our on-line system Talentlink, conditional offers, undertaking all pre-hire checks (DBS via an on-line system, ID checks using ID3Global, references etc.) Issuing new starter contracts and contractual changes for current employees. Processing leavers, honoraria payments and maternity, paternity and adoption leave, invoices and undertaking recharging in relation to DBS checks.

To be a successful candidate you must be a highly motivated, organised team player with excellent customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal). The ability to respond to customers effectively and efficiently is essential. You need to be hard working, focused and able to work with minimum supervision. 

You will be required to have proven experience in a variety of transactional HR processes; a comprehensive working knowledge of current recruitment practices, contractual changes, legislation; various terms and conditions and experience of working to tight deadlines in a fast paced, result focused environment. 

You must have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in order that data input into the Oracle HR/Payroll system, contracts that are issued are correct and records are maintained/ updated accordingly.

You will also have excellent ICT skills preferably using Microsoft Office including Word and Excel and have a good working knowledge of Oracle, Outlook, Civica iclipse and Service Manager.
