What makes this role different?
There are few genuine opportunities where you can shape a Borough’s Adult Social Care provider services to such an extent. This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody with experience, vision, flair and ambition to make a lasting impact on Newham residents.
We are now at a time of reviewing our in-house provider services and in addition, will soon be welcoming back in to the Council, a number of services that were previously externalised.
The successful candidate will undertake a lead role in managing, reviewing, modernising and transforming all our provider services to ensure we offer a service of choice to our residents – and provide a seamless interface as part of Adult Social Care Operating Models.
You will work closely with stakeholders in identifying gaps in the market, where an in-house solution could compliment operating models. You will develop, enhance and improve current pathways and universal offers in line with our service and corporate plan. This will include increasing a preventative and enablement offer and thinking outside of the box in how we offer support.
You will lead and manage Older People’s and Physical Disability Day Opportunities, Dementia Day Opportunities, Enablement Services, Learning Disability and Autism Day Opportunities and Employment, Community Neighbourhood Link Workers service, and Facilities Management. We expect you to excel when it comes to assuring quality and working within regulatory frameworks. We expect your portfolio to grow once you are established, and evidence that the services are operating at a high standard – which is what we expect for our residents.
The role is both exciting and challenging.
You will need to have strong leadership qualities. You will need to be able work with and influence a diverse group of stakeholders and ensure local priorities are met.
You will also need to bring good experience of leading provider services of similar complexity and size. Alternatively, show us that you are ready and able to do this.
This is not a role for someone who is happy to make small, incremental adjustments to an established function. It requires someone with the enthusiasm, stamina and creativity to deliver genuine change.
