Central Control Operator (part-time 26.25 hours per week, working mornings)
Band C, £14,159 - £15,327 per annum
We are looking for a Central Control Operator to join the council’s 24-hour Central Control Team. The successful candidate will work morning shifts Monday to Friday on a weekly rota basis, with some degree of flexibility needed to complete training, attend team meetings and occasionally provide cover for colleagues by working other shifts throughout the week at various times of the day or night. It is a lone working role with a shift pattern of 7:00am to 12:15pm worked daily Monday to Friday. Full details of the shift pattern can be found in the job pack.
If you enjoy talking to people on the telephone and you are able to stay calm and offer reassurance in a variety of situations, sometimes difficult ones, we would love to hear from you. You will be part of the council’s Customer Service Team providing a 24-hour, 365 days a year helpline service to the people in North West Leicestershire. The team takes pride in delivering a speedy and professional response to our customers and provides a vital link via telecare community alarms for elderly and vulnerable people who may need assistance by calling on the help of their named contact or the emergency services. We also handle the council’s out of hours emergency calls from people throughout the district, e.g. for tenants with housing maintenance emergencies or for dangerous structures.
The successful candidate will need:-
- Experience of dealing with the public, call centre experience would be an advantage
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- To be able to use a range of ICT software systems with the ability to analyse information and input data accurately and concisely
- Some experience of working with older/vulnerable people and external agencies
