Salary: Starting from £24,313 to 28,785 p.a.

Grade: Grade 5

Hours: 37 hours per week

Closing date: 30th March 2020

Come and join our friendly team and help us to plan the future development of Adur District and Worthing Borough on the south coast. The planning officers for both Councils work together as one team to cover this area.

This is an exciting and challenging time as we are currently preparing a new Local Plan for Worthing and a range of documents for Adur (prior to commencing the review of the Adur Local Plan). You will have an important role in helping to take these forward.  We work in partnership with a variety of bodies and organisations which adds to the interest of our work.

The Policy team is involved in a variety of work and you will be involved in a number of these, in particular:

  • Housing delivery and monitoring
  • GIS Mapping
  • Assisting in the collection and monitoring of developer contributions
  • Conservation of the built and natural environment
  • Economic regeneration

Ideally, you will have a town planning degree and some planning policy experience. You will need good numeracy and analytical skills and be a confident user of IT systems.  Good communication (both verbal & written) will be required as well as confidence in dealing with professionals and the public. We are looking for an enthusiastic planner who will fit into the existing team to help progress our Plans.
