The Role Southwark is six miles long from the foot of the Shard to the deepest corner of Dulwich Woods; Southwark punches above its weight. It is diverse and dynamic - just like its people. Home to 92 parks and open spaces, 120 languages, and a thriving cultural scene, there's really nowhere quite like it. We are an Investors in People Gold organisation, a top 100 Apprentice employer and are told by our Local Government Association peers that we're a 'can do' council with a huge amount to be proud of. Ambitious, innovative and confident, we want the very best for our residents. But while we're proud of who we are today, we're also looking to the future. Modernise is a division which supports Southwark Council in meeting the challenges of improving services and modernising so that we are 'fit for the future'. This is an exciting time to join our new cohort of graduate project support officers and make the most of an excellent opportunity to gain a detailed understanding of a complex inner London local authority, all while studying toward a project management qualification. We will work with you so that you are able to advise, support and deliver projects both within the Modernise division and across the council. You will bring an understanding of developments in the world of work and service delivery to each project with a commitment to bringing staff with you and embedding change effectively. We have vacancies across a number of teams within Modernise related to projects around our Workplace, our Workplace and our IT and Digital infrastructure. The graduate scheme will last two years, after which you will have an excellent overview of the council and the range of services that it delivers (this may well lead you to choose a career path that you didn't expect), an excellent track record of delivery, and experience that is second to none, not to forget the project management qualification! Recruitment Timetable Closing date - 30 April 2020 Interview and Assessments - Week commencing 8 May 2020 Additional Details This is a Graduate role and will be a two year Fixed Term Contract
