Our main functions include supporting children who are subject to Child In need plans and Child Protection plans. We also carry out PLO work and initiate care proceedings.

We use and support the systemic models of practice and support and encourage the use of motivational interviewing in all of our work with families. We strongly believe that working alongside our families and enabling them to create change is what provides the children we work with better outcomes. This feeds into the systemic practice we endorse.

Our Court and Permanence Teams are based at Priory House in SheffordHere we also function in small teams and have strong management support and manageable caseloads for all our Social Workers.

Within the team we continue with care proceedings that have been started by the Family Support Service, working primarily with looked after children and having a good understanding of both the court process and looked after children process. Our ultimate aim is supporting children and young people into permanence, be that through a rehabilitation plan home or into their forever home of fostering or adoption.
